The collection of the Dostoevsky Museum numbers 18 sculpture portraits of the writer. Among them there are the works of well-known sculptors: one of them (the bust of Dostoevsky by R. Bakh) was created in the writer's lifetime. The sculpture portraits stored in the museum are multiform in their execution manner. Many of them are made in the realistic tradition of XIX century. Some works vividly express an aspiration for presenting a symbolic image of the writer. The Museum stores the sculpture portraits of Dostoevsky made by such prominent masters of the XX century as S.Konenkov, E.Neizvestny, L.Kholina, P.Shevchenko, Ye.Rotanov, S.Alipov, I.Knyazev and others. These works being different in style have common aspiration for expressing the spirit of the creator of the great novels.
